Hey y’all! So I’ve been whipping up some goodies lately. I had a few flops as well as a few successes. This particular recipe I’m excited about because it turned out great. I took a simple box cake mix and switched up the ingredient measurements. I then topped it with a frosting that any 90’s baby would love. Yes. Dunkaroos frosting.


For anyone not familiar, Dunkaroos were really popular when I was growing up.  You weren’t cool if you didn’t have any in your lunch box. They consisted of cookies and this unforgettable icing that you dunk the cookies in. Well I heard they were back in stores now, but the recipe for this icing has been floating around for the past couple years. I must say that it is pretty spot on. The ingredients are so simple. Luckily for me I had all the ingredients already, and there was no need to run to the store.

So guys I’ve had this sauce that I snagged out of my aunt’s fridge for a couple months now — Cattlemen’s Carolina Tangy Gold. I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to use it. It’s been a bit too cold where I live to barbecue, but this recipe that I found in Back Home with the Neelys: Comfort Food from Our Southern Kitchen to Yours is perfect. I went ahead and picked up some beef ribs the other day so I could try it out.
